non-responsive programs is that
In other news we’re planning on keeping a low profile this weekend. We’re hoping to take another financial course and do Dinner Club and that’s pretty much it.
It’ll likely rain all weekend so finishing the tree is pretty much out.
I’m thankful that it’s the weekend
I’m thankful that my code doesn’t break like this very often
I’m thankful that our attitudes toward money are very similar
I know that God wants money to serve us and not the other way around.
This past Wednesday was inventory day (which went remarkably well once the inventory started, but the whole processes sucked rocks through bent straws right up until the start).
Then yesterday I found out that we have a surprise meeting in Toronto to sell our flagship product to a huge potential market. I don’t have anything ready for that type of a demonstration. I figure it’ll take three to four days to get my material together and polish my presentation. I have exactly three days including today to get it done and that’s if I work 16 hours this weekend.
I hate surprises.
We have our first Christmas present show tomorrow night! We got season passes to the local theatre for Christmas and tomorrow is the first show of the season. We’re excited! It should be a good time.
I’m also hoping to get some work done on the deck this weekend and we have dinner plans with friends of ours on Sunday – that should be a good time.
I’m thankful that our Christmas present was so cool and that we get to start enjoying it this weekend.
I’m thankful that we have friends that want to invite us over for supper
I’m thankful that we have a flagship product to sell and make money with
I know that God has way more in store for me than He has given so far.
Whohoo! This has been an excellent week. I’ve just about caught up on everything. I’ve worked my list down to two concurrent projects, which is manageable. Michelle has been doing well, the wine room is progressing nicely and things are going well.
Ya, me!
The insulation is going in to the wine room as we speak – we’ll be ready to do the drywall and custom shelving this weekend. Then we’ll be able to get some of the clutter out of my basement, which is a really good thing.
I’ll be doing portraits for John and Hedda shortly. They have a DVD and a CD to sell (respectively) and I get to be a tiny little part of it. Very cool.
I’m looking forward to date night tonight. Part of it will be picking up the lumber for our new shelves, but that’ll be fun because of the progress that it represents.
I’m thankful that we’re handy enough to make a wine room for cheap
I’m thankful that Sherry is willing to buy into my projects
I’m thankful that Sherry lets me help with her projects
Even if they're tiny little things you really need to celebrate when things go your way.
One of the things that I've been dreading doing is to register my video cameras with the Border Guards (the Canadian version of the US's Home Land Security Guards) so that I can bring them to Michigan to do Ken's wedding.
Sherry and I took ten minutes to write down all of the serial numbers on a Sample Form Y38 that I downloaded from the Governments web site. Then I drove to the border and parked by the Currency Exchange booth (our plan was to buy tokens in US dollars since it was a full $5 per roll cheaper than the Canadian version. I bought seven rolls - which should last us a year and won't go up when the toll does in January.)
I walked across the road to the Secondary something where the paperwork is handled and told the guy I needed a Y38 and showed him my sample one with the serial numbers on it. He stamped my sample form, signed it, had me sign it and sent me on my way. The longest part was crossing the road! Cool.
Ok, so it was a minor victory, but it could have gone so much worse. I should remind Paul to register his camera. It's a week today.
We had a really fun meeting at work today.
I know - that's an oxymoron, right? Well, not really. John came in as an outside consultant on a project that my boss (my brother) and I are working on. Turns out that John is an old friend from my highschool days and teaches the Impromptu Comedy class in town.
What a fun meeting. Tonnes of cool ideas came out of the meeting and it was fun too (did I mention it was fun?)
Well, my weekend awaits. Tomorrow is date night and I think we may go down to the river to watch the submarine races. I _love_ the submarine races!
